The area of the
Pacific Coast of Manuel Antonio is an ideal destination for travelers
looking to do excursions with pure adrenaline !! As adventure sports have
grown world wide, we have been fortunate to get some of these activities
introduced to our region. We offer numerous adventure tours departing
daily.
Canopy - Zip line Tour
The canopy course consists of 18 platforms, 9 “zip lines”,
and 3 rappel lines Your expert guides will assist you in this exciting
journey through the different layers of the tropical rainforest. Your
guide will point out and explain the many different types of flora and
fauna; from poison dart frogs, to the “walking palm tree”.
This unique experience is a great way to explore the tree tops, while
at the same enjoying the adrenaline rush from plat form to plat form.
This is an adventure for people of all ages and interests, and is a top
favorite for many visitors. This tour offers the opportunity to ascend
into the forest canopy and see jungle life from a perspective available
previously to only a select few researchers and photographers. You will
travel from tree to tree and platform to platform using pulleys on horizontal
traverse cables, as they sail through the treetops of the tropical rainforest
canopy, and over the trails far below. Expert guides assist you in this
exciting journey through the different layers of the virgin rain forests
and explain what's going on around you, from the time you leave the ground,
until you rappel back down to the forest floor. First your bilingual guide
will provide you with a helmet and rock-climbing harness, and make sure
you have everything on securely. Then the guide will lead a safety training
session. After a short hike through the rainforest, you'll climb up a
small ladder to a platform in the trees, and traverse on overhead cables
from one platform to another. As you coast along the treetops listen closely
for the vast variety of birds that can be seen and heard throughout the
preserve. Then, just when you think you have become one with the canopy
we get your blood pumping with a drop back down to the forest floor.
